You do not need a premium machine to dry a damp home. Below the top tier there are branded dehumidifiers from Ariston, Pro Breeze, Dimplex, De'Longhi, Whirlpool, Masterplug and EcoAir that cover most UK houses well. The differences are in capacity and convenience: how many litres a day, how big the tank is, what room size the maker quotes and whether there is a laundry mode for drying washing indoors. This guide compares eight branded machines on those facts from each listing. Pick the extraction rate for your home size first. A flat or single room needs around 10 to 12 litres a day, while a three or four bed house is better served by 20 litres or more. Then check the tank and drainage for how often you want to empty it.
