Ariston built the Deos 21S NET specifically for the UK market and pitches it at whole floors rather than single rooms. Its headline is a recommended maximum area of 52 square metres, the largest quoted among the 20 litre class units reviewed here. It suits a family home with a damp ground floor or a household drying several loads a week, especially if someone wants to schedule running times from a phone.

In its favour

  • Quoted for areas up to 52 m², the largest recommended area among these 20 litre models.
  • The Ariston Clima app sets humidity and schedules running times from your phone.
  • Super Laundry mode sets the fan speed from the humidity and temperature it senses.

Good to know

  • Noise, wattage and tank size are not stated in the listing.
  • The title says 21 L/day but the bullets say 20 litres a day, so expect the lower figure.

Our take

Capacity and coverage on paper

The listing is inconsistent on extraction. The title quotes 21 litres per day while a bullet says the unit absorbs 20 litres a day, so the safer assumption is the lower number. The 52 square metre area is stated plainly and is the main reason to shortlist it.

Physically it is compact for its class at 24.5 by 35 by 51 cm, though the 15.9 kg weight means it is still a two hand lift. Amazon does not state wattage, noise or a usable tank size: the tank field simply repeats the 21 litre daily figure.

App control and scheduling

Smartphone control through the Ariston Clima app is listed as optional. From the app you can set a preferred humidity level and create a timetable, so the machine can run during the day while the house is empty and stay off overnight. That is a practical way to keep running hours, and noise, away from the times you are at home.

Laundry and air purification modes

Super Laundry mode reads the room's humidity and temperature and picks a fan speed to suit, with the aim of drying clothes faster without moisture building up. Ariston also supplies a HEPA filter for a dedicated purification mode targeting dust, bacteria and allergens.

Note the condition attached: the listing says the appliance works exclusively in air purification mode while the HEPA filter is fitted. In other words you choose between dehumidifying and purifying, rather than getting both at once as the Meaco Arete Two claims to do.

Against its closest rivals

The Meaco Arete Two gives a stated 38 dB and combined dehumidifying with filtration, but covers a smaller quoted area of 42 square metres. The Dimplex EverDri 20L is a simpler choice with a colour coded comfort light and no app at all. The Deos sits between them: more reach than either, with smart scheduling, but fewer published numbers.

Verdict

The Deos 21S NET makes sense for larger UK homes where coverage and scheduled running matter more than knowing the exact decibel figure. Buyers who want a confirmed quiet rating should look at the Meaco Arete Two, and anyone who prefers plain controls without an app may be better served by the Dimplex EverDri 20L.
