The Hoover H-DRY 350 in its 9 kg version is a connected heat pump dryer controlled through the hOn app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Its listing is the only one in our guide to state a noise figure, and it gives clear dimensions for measuring up. It suits a buyer who wants app control and a 9 kg drum and can accept a modest class D energy rating.

Our take
Heat pump and energy class
Hoover describes the heat pump as using a refrigerant gas with a much lower environmental impact than older types, and says it delivers high performance with low energy consumption. The energy class is D, which is the weakest rating among the heat pump models we cover. No kWh per cycle figure is given, so check the energy label before comparing running costs.
Connectivity and programmes
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy connect the dryer to the hOn app, letting you start, monitor and manage it remotely. Sixteen programmes are listed in the title, and a delay start function lets you set a cycle to finish later. The listing does not say whether drying is sensor controlled.
Noise and dimensions
Hoover states a noise level of 66 dB. That is the only figure of its kind across our heat pump guide, so you cannot directly compare it with the others, but it gives you something to weigh if the dryer will sit in an open plan kitchen. The machine measures 85 by 60 by 58.5 cm and weighs 39.2 kg, light for a full size heat pump dryer. The model name in the specs appears in Italian, which suggests imported stock, so check the panel language and plug before buying.
Similar choices
The Candy ProDry 500 shares the hOn app, adds a moisture sensing Genius cycle and has a better class C rating. The Electrolux EW7H28B is smaller at 8 kg but lists class B and its energy use per cycle. Hoover also sells an 8 kg version of the H-DRY 350, which shares the same body size, app and noise figure if your loads are smaller.
Verdict
Choose the Hoover H-DRY 350 9 kg if app control, a 9 kg drum and a lighter body suit you and the class D rating does not put you off. For better efficiency look at the Electrolux EW7H28B, and for sensor drying with the same app the Candy ProDry 500 is the stronger option.
