The Temirup WM700D is a two in one moisture meter for DIYers, landlords and caravan owners who want both scanning and direct readings without buying two instruments. A spherical head gives quick relative readings over walls and finished surfaces, while a plug in pin probe gives absolute values in timber or concrete. It also reads room temperature and humidity, which helps when the real problem is condensation.

In its favour
- Covers both relative pinless scanning and absolute pin readings in one kit.
- Measures ambient temperature and humidity as well as material moisture.
- Listing names caravans and motorhomes among its uses, along with walls and timber.

- No app or data logging, only a hold function for the current reading.
Our take
Two measuring modes explained
The listing describes relative mode, shown without a percent sign, where you place the spherical probe on a surface to find wetter and drier areas across a large wall. Absolute mode, shown with a percent sign, uses stainless steel needles pushed into the material. The title gives a detection depth of 20 to 40 mm for the scanning side.
Use the relative mode first to find a hotspot behind a ceiling, floor or wall, then confirm with pins where marking the surface does not matter.
Room readings and the display
Ambient temperature is listed from minus 10 to 60 °C with an accuracy of 2 °C, and humidity from 0 to 100% RH at 5%, updating every second. Those figures let you see if the room air itself is damp enough to cause condensation on cold walls. The colour LCD, an acoustic alarm and a hold button for the current reading round out the controls, and it switches itself off after 30 minutes idle.
Set up, kit and warranty
Calibration happens automatically when you hold the MEAS button for three seconds after switching on. The kit includes the pin tester, a storage bag, a screwdriver, a AAA battery and the manual, and the body has a soft rubber coating. Temirup lists a 36 month warranty and names bricks, plaster, wood, concrete, houses, motorhomes and caravans among its uses.
Where it sits among the alternatives
Against the Protimeter Mini, the Temirup adds a pinless head and room humidity, while the Protimeter brings a surveying brand and a calibration checker. The Tramex MEX5 goes much further with two depths, dew point and app reports. The listing does not state accuracy for material readings or offer any app.
Verdict
Choose the Temirup WM700D if you want pin and pinless modes plus room humidity in one affordable kit for home, van or rental checks. Surveyors who need a trusted brand and reports should look at the Tramex MEX5, and anyone who wants a simple pin reading may prefer the Protimeter Mini.
