The AriaDry Light DNS65 is De'Longhi's compressor free dehumidifier, using zeolite to absorb moisture. It is aimed at a bedroom or small cold room where quiet running is the priority, and where the temperature drops overnight. Its stated noise level of 34 dB, which De'Longhi says makes it suitable for night hours, and its steady performance in cooler conditions are what define it.
- Extraction
- 6 L/day
- Power
- 520 W
- Stated noise
- 34 dB
- Tank
- 2.8 L
- Low temperature
- Steady at low temperatures
In its favour
- Zeolite technology keeps absorption steady even at low temperatures, per the listing.
- 34 dB with no compressor, and the maker says it suits night hours.
- A 2.8 litre tank with a level indicator, plus a drain pipe included.
Good to know
- 6 litres a day is the lowest here, and 520 W makes it costly per litre.
- The listing gives no minimum temperature figure.
Our take
What zeolite technology does
Zeolite is a desiccant material that traps water vapour. De'Longhi says it keeps moisture absorption constant even at low temperatures, which is the main advantage over compressor machines in a chilly room. Because there is no compressor, the main sources of hum and vibration are gone.
The listing does not give a minimum working temperature, however, so compare it with EcoAir's desiccant models, which specify operation from 1 °C.
Capacity and power
Extraction is up to 6 litres a day, the lowest of the dehumidifiers covered on this site. The power rating is 520 W, which is high relative to output, since desiccant units use heat to release the trapped moisture. That makes it best for a small room or as a top up, rather than tackling a whole damp house. Using the timer to limit running hours is a sensible way to keep that draw in check.
The upper temperature rating is 35 °C, two speeds are listed, and the weight is 6.5 kg.
Features and daily handling
An ioniser releases negative ions which De'Longhi says reduce dust, pollen and smoke in the air. Swing flaps oscillate across three positions to spread the dry air, and a timer is included. The 2.8 litre removable tank has a water level indicator, and a drain pipe is supplied for continuous drainage.
Versus the EcoAir DD1 Classic and Bosch Dry 1000
The EcoAir DD1 Classic MK6 matches the 34 dB(A) figure, extracts 7.5 litres a day from 1 °C and lists auto restart, at a lower 300 W rating. The Bosch Dry 1000 is also quoted at 34 dB(A) and extracts 10 litres a day at 175 W, but as a compressor model it prefers a heated room, and it quotes a small 17 square metre limit.
Verdict
The DNS65 is a fit for a small bedroom or cool study where silence and steady performance in lower temperatures matter. If you want more output from less power in a cold space, the EcoAir DD1 Classic MK6 is the stronger option, and in a heated small room, the Bosch Dry 1000 is more efficient.
